Two non-commissioned officers arrested in army explosives theft

The two non-commissioned officers were arrested late on Thursday night after the discovery of the break-in at the unit of Palodia, north of Limassol. They are in police custody for eight days   and police told the court that these officers showed negligence towards their duty and helped in the theft of 172 kilos of plastic explosive from an army depot.

 

The police has started the investigation and taken the statement of the 35 people. There were no security cameras or alarms at the depot in spite of having very sensitive explosive material there.
