Turkish Cyprus President meets UN special envoy

The United Nations (UN) secretary general's adviser and the president of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) discussed the negotiation process in Cyprus in the meeting on Thursday.

Alexander Downer, UN secretary general's special adviser on Cyprus, told reporters that TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat and he had a fruitful meeting which focused on the negotiation process.

Talat and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias discussed "property" in Thursday's meeting at the buffer zone in Lefkosa and they would discuss "authorities of the federal government" and "international relations" in next week's meeting, Downer said.
