NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen requested all parties to do their utmost to find out the solution of Cyprus Problem.

Rasmussen was attending an event organised by the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy in Athens and there he said, “as far as Cyprus is concerned, it is really a matter of concern, also because the ongoing issues have made us cautious for the relationship between NATO and the European Union”.

He further uttered, “Under the auspices of the United Nations, we have seen plans for a solution to the Cyprus conflict that are pretty close to what could and should be acceptable to both sides in this very unfortunate conflict”.

According to Rasmussen “it is important for Cyprus to get that conflict resolved, but, as I indicated, it is also important for the relationship between NATO and the European Union that we can have conflicts resolved”.

Rasmussen pointed out that “it is my firm belief that the key to that is to find a solution to the conflict in Cyprus”.
