Greek Cyprus President hopeful for meeting

Greek President Demetris Christofiase has reached the meeting destination New York and talked with journalists.Christofiase said that Greek Cyprus will not take part in International conference before the settlement in the internal matters of Cyprus.

 

Christofiase felt bad that not much progress could not be done between the leaders on the  core issues  Cyprus
Demteris said that Greek Cyprus side is willing to discuss openly and ‘miracle’ can happen in the meeting. He further said Turkish side has created a picture in which it  blames the Greek Cypriot side for the lack of progress.

 

Christofiase cleared Greek position by saying, ‘I believe that at the first Greentree meeting our side has shown good will and we continued demonstrating good will. But unfortunately, the Turkish side has made no move forward.''

 
Talks will start on Monday, in the presence of the UN SG, and continue throughout the day with separate meetings. On Monday afternoon, UN SG's Special Advisor Alexander Downer will brief the press on the outcome of the first day of the talks.
