Downer, the Special Advisor of UNSG on Cyprus issue, summarized Green Tree meeting and said very little progress has been achieved in the meeting and it was quit disappointing. But, still he hopes for better result at last.

The members of the Security Council appreciated Downer’s efforts. The British roused the issue of Force in Cyprus. The US supports the British force in Cyprus.

Downer reported that UNSG urged both the leaders of Cyprus to make significant progress towards the final decision.
