The foreign Minister of Cyprus, Mr.Markos Kyprianou,on a meeting with top European diplomats on Monday said that Cyprus won't be lead to recognize the independence of Kosovo.

The foreign   minister said that positive verdict of the UN International Court of Justice regarding the legality of Kosovo’s independence will not affect Cyprus’ position.

The decision of ICJ is constrained only to the specific question which refers to the procedure of the declaration only .But when comes the question of integrity of the country it can only be resolved by the talks and negotiations and not by declaring independence. Cyprus along with Greece, Spain, Romania and Slovakia donot recognize Kosovo.
