UN led Cyprus peace meeting took today after a long break. Last time both the leaders meet with UNSG in Green Tree meeting.

The leaders, Dervis Eroglu and Demetris Christofiase met at 10 in the morning at the protected area in Nicosia.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki moon expressed hope that the leaders of the two communities will continue their efforts until the end of March, noting that then his Special Adviser on Cyprus, Alexander Downer, will evaluate the situation.

The UNSG further said that if Downer's assessment is positive, he can call for international meeting on Cyprus issue.
