The Foreign Minister Hüseyin Özgürgün,said on Wednesday that an alternative plan has been made in case of the failure in Cyprus reunification talks on “property issue”. However, he did not elaborate on the plan, saying, "We are not expressing it due to our intention [of reaching] a settlement on the island.
The Turkish Cypriot side has repetitively said that the discussion cannot continue forever and must bring to a close with a settlement by the end of 2010.
In an interview with Turkish Cypriot state-run TV channel BRT, said Özgürgün
"Greek Cypriots are trying to evade a deal,”. “They have never said 'yes' to a state based on equal partnership with Turkish Cypriots. Their aim is to recognize Turkish Cypriots as a minority and claim right to the whole island.”
