Turkey responsible for Greeces economic sinking

The Greek Christian-democrat Georgios Koumoutsakos made a shocking statement, accusing Turkey of the economic collapse of Greece over the huge military expenses, which the country makes because of the military threat coming from Turkey.
“Greece is forced to buy weapons because of the threats coming from Turkey”, the Greek MEP remarked.

I just wish that Germany, England,USA and every other medling biased nation had to share borders with Turkey instead of with Greece. I think I would call them my friends. History is long and the lofty shall be humbled, while the frustrated, victimised and mocked peoples will once again be happy and prosperous. Turkey, like England will sink to the bottom of world importance, perhaps like Greece is now, to dwell in their ideological harvests. History testifies to this.

If one looks at recent conflicts between Greece an Turkey , it is in fact the Greek side trying to exploit an opportunity rather than Turkish aggression. The Cyprus conflict was brought about by a Greek military coup whose objective was Enosis, not to mention the ethnic cleansing of Turkish Cypriots by EOKA. The conflict at the end of WW1 was a Greek opportunistic land grab when Turkey was at a vulnerable state which back fired. So people should get their facts straight before they litter these boards with rubbish...but why let racism and ethnic bias get in the way of the facts ?

Greece should take ownership of their own policies and stop blaming everyone else.

There's allot of Truth in this. Turkey has threatended war if Greece extends its teritorial waters to 12 Nautical Miles around the Coastline and Islands as she is entitled to do by international law. No one forces Turkey to fly its war planes over Rhodes, Carpathos, Lesvos, Samos, Kos, Simi, other

Turkey is a sleeping beast that needs to be watched closely. They also need to be kept out of the EUROPEAN UNION because of their bad human rights record.

Military threat from Turkey ? Peace has remained since 1974. Why is such a fact not recognised. Defence is not war.

It is quite obvious that the administrator will not like my previous comments and will veto it, proving my point precisely.

If Turkey ceased its Islamic, imperialist agenda in the eastern mediterranean and Aegean sea the world would be a safer place and Greece (for all its faults) should not have to arm itself against a country that states that it wants to join Europe but only on its terms. This is not how life works. To

As Greece is part of the EU, why do they still feel threatened? Ridiculous. History has told us that The Greeks- Greek Cypriots are war mongers. When they get defeated, they become the victims of Turkish aggression. Turkey is trying to improve relations and they are buying arms and looking for tro

Why Greeks always blame others for their misdeeds and self inflicted misfortunes? ‘ During the Turkish war of independent, when the Greek General Papoulias' Army was defected and humiliated by Ataturk, in Sakarya 13th September 1921, with 10 000 Greek casualties, Greek General Papoulias said '
