Decades ago, North Cyprus was considered as the “paradise for the fugitives”. There were the political reasons for that. Turkish Republic Northern Cyprus was founded and Rauf Denktash was the President who got retired in 2005. But Turky knows that Cyprus issue is the main problem which is coming in its EU accession. The TRNC is accepted only by Turkey and is in diplomatic and economic isolation.

TRNC considers the Green Line- which is under United Nations troops as its southern most part while Republic of Greek does not recognize it as a boarder and most of the Greek Cypriot refuses to show their passport.

Earlier, Spain was the most favorite place for the criminals but after signing a treaty with Britain number of criminals were sent back to Britain. Now criminals have started searching for a new place for them and found North Cyprus the most favorable for them.

But now Northern Cyprus has cleared it that criminals will not get shelter and that they are working in close connection with the British Police.
