Turkish Transportation Minister Says Trnc Can Be Island Of Informatics

Turkish transportation minister said on Friday the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) could be an island of informatics with its infrastructure, labor force and universities.

Delivering a speech in the opening of "Informatics Island Workshop" held in Girne of TRNC, Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim said, "informatics has become a way of life rather than a sector."

The area of informatics became an impetus of economies in several countries, he said.

In regard to informatics sector in Turkey, Yildirim said that investments in the sector exceeded 4 billion U.S. dollars in 2008.
