The travellers had to face a lot of difficulty at Lamarca Airport on Thursday. It was not due to any strike or some official problem but because important staff member fell ill.

His position could not be replaced and passengers had to wait in departure room for to wait for their flight’s announcement till afternoon.Cyprus Airways reported that 1000 passengers were affected with this sudden incident. And after the arrival of new shift controller the normal situation is revived.

The flights will be affected on January 18 and January 25 for four hours because of Air staff’s protest against parliamentary decision.The Cyprus Air Traffic Controllers Union (PASEEK) is annoyed that parliament accepted austerity measures which did not include special provisions for them.
