The census in Cyprus was conducted in early October and late November. The census will give the exact picture of population living in urban and rural Cyprus and number of foreigners living in Cyprus. The census will also tell the number of houses in Cyprus.

The main criteria for census was to count the entire population and composition of population in urban and rural Cyprus , social and economic characteristic such as gender, age , n=marital status and educational qualification of the people.

The residential place was taken in minute detail such as the number of rooms in a house and detail of various essential amenities like water supply and heating supply. The preliminary results gave rough data of population which is 810,000.The census was conducted by the Statistical Service of Cyprus and 800 employees worked in it.
