North cyprus tourism hurt by bankruptacy


Tourism industry in northern Cyprus is facing a heavy blow after the bankruptcy of Cyprus Turkish Airlines. Tourisim representatives are saying that various airline companies have started using lamaca Airport in Greek Cyprus,which is becoming the future worry for Ercan Airport in the North .

 

 Mehmet Dolmacı, chairman of Turkish Cypriot Hoteliers Union, or KITOB, said that because of  the bankruptcy of Cyprus Turkish Airlines, a large number of tourists from northen Cyprus are choosing to fly to Larnaca Airport. Moreover, this is better option for them as transferring from there to the resorts in the north only takes about one and a half hours.
