The reports say that Turkey will supply electricity to North Cyprus. North Cyprus and Turkey have also signed a treaty in 2010 according to which Turkey will provide the potable water to North Cyprus.


The water shortage still persist in North Cyprus. The supply of the water was planned from Mersin's Anamur town via 70km pipeline to be constructed beneath the Mediterranean Sea.

Head of Turkish Parliament Omer Faruk Oz said that after constructing a pond in North Cyprus the water would be pumped there and assured to solve the water shortage problem.
 

Oz said that they are planning the project to work by 2013 or 2014.

While commenting on the Presidency of Greek Cyprus in July 2012, OZ said, "We do not accept their presidency, and we do not think that the Greek Cypriot administration represents entire Cyprus.”
