North Cyprus Exports Boom in South

Exports from the Turkish controlled north and the republic has increased within the framework of the EU Commission’s Green Line Regulation in Cyprus, according to figures released by the ‘Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce.’

The Chamber said that the north has made export sales to the republic totaling 4,410,000 Euros in the first eight months of the year.

The highest increase was observed in the export of vegetables, potato ranking the first.

Meanwhile, work is still underway to allow honey and snail trade within the Green Line Regulation which has been in force since 1 May 2004.

It defines the terms under which EU law applies to the movement of persons, goods and services over the green line.
