Drilling work in North Cyprus to be done in February
In North Cyprus newspaper Haberdar under the title ‘Here it is!’ had been published the news of oil drilling in North Cyprus. According to the news the Turkish Petroleum Cooperation (TPAO) will be conducting the drilling work.
The exploration will start on 28th February and the area will be around south of the small dam in Syngrasi. The paper also informed that Turkish Ministry of Energy asked for the area of exploration.
The preparation for the exploration had already begun last month and preliminary test for exploration are supposed to be done by the end of February 2012.
TPAO had collected the seismic data from the area. The drilling will start with one well till three kilometers.
